According to information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 13:00 today on September 10, the location of the center of Storm Conson/typhoon No. 5 was right on the southern sea of the Hoang Sa archipelago. The area near the center of storm No. 5 will have strong winds of level 10, equivalent to 90-100 km/h, level 12 gusts. The sea with strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 8 or higher from the center of the storm has a radius of about 160 km. .
In the next 24 hours, the number 5 storm is forecasted to move about 10 km per hour, will move mainly to the west and is likely to strengthen. At 13:00 tomorrow, September 11, the center of storm No. 5 is about 230 km east of the coast of Quang Tri – Quang Nam. The strongest wind in the area near the center of the storm is at level 11, equivalent to 100 – 120 km/h, level 13.
Regarding this storm No. 5, Deputy Director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Hoang Phuc Lam, said that the latest forecast shows that, from tonight, the coastal areas of the provinces from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai will be affected. will be affected by storm number 5.
Therefore, the provinces from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai will have strong winds of level 6 – level 7, then increase to level 8 – level 9, level 11. island districts of Ly Son – Quang Ngai, Con Co – Quang Tri due to the influence. The storm surge will be very strong, with waves from 4 to 5 m high.
On the mainland from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai provinces, also due to the influence of storms from tonight to tomorrow morning, September 11, there will be increasing rain. According to the forecast from September 11-13, the rainfall in the provinces from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai is mainly in the range of 200-300 mm/time, in some places the rainfall is up to over 350 mm/time. The provinces from Quang Nam to Quang Ngai receive mainly from 100 – 200 mm of rainfall, in some places the rainfall is up to over 250 mm.
In addition, Mr. Hoang Phuc Lam also said that provinces from Thanh Hoa to Quang Binh will rain later. Accordingly, this area will have rain from September 12-14, with the rainfall mainly about 100-200mm/time, especially in Quang Binh and Ha Tinh, the rainfall in some places is over 250mm/time.
