From now to September 13, the weather in the Southern region will turn bad because Typhoon Conson moves slowly, operating in the East Sea for longer, making the southwest monsoon stronger.
Accordingly, Deputy Head of the Forecasting Department of the Southern Regional Hydro-meteorological Station Le Dinh Quyet said that in the coming days, the rain in the Southern region will gradually increase, in the rain may appear tornadoes and hail. This is due to the tropical convergence band containing rain disturbances associated with Typhoon Conson and Super Typhoon Chanthu, causing the southwest monsoon to become stronger.
At the same time, storm Conson after entering the East Sea is likely to get stronger, while still moving in the northwest direction. But currently off the coast of the Philippines, Super Typhoon Chanthu is too active, capable of creating a double storm interaction, thus causing Typhoon Conson to move more slowly and tend to deviate from West – Southwest when entering the middle of the East Sea.
Thus, Typhoon Conson will be “held up” by Super Typhoon Chanthu, moving slower and, operating in the East Sea for longer, thus making the southwest monsoon stronger so from today to September 13. The weather in the South will turn bad.
Accordingly, the weather in this area will be mostly cloudy, afternoon to afternoon and evening is forecasted to rain in many places, scattered with thunderstorms, in places with heavy to very heavy rain, scattered showers with thunderstorms at night. During a thunderstorm, people need to beware of strong winds, whirlwinds, and lightning.
From September 14 to 15, there will be rain in this area in the afternoon and evening, some places with moderate rain, some places with heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, with showers and thunderstorms at night. From September 16 to 18, rain in the Southern region will start to decrease and only less than half of this area will have rain, in which rain mainly occurs in the afternoon.
Particularly tonight, on September 8, Can Tho, Hau Giang, Tien Giang, Vinh Long will have heavy to very heavy rain. Tomorrow 9/9, many in the Southeast provinces will have rain in the evening.
“Currently, the tropical convergence band is very active, so there are many vortex areas on it, which are favorable conditions for the formation of thunderstorms, whirlwinds, gusts and tornadoes,” Quyet said.
