The impressive housing project that we introduce to you today is located in Lai The village, Hue city. The house, called Q House, is home to a family of two generations including parents and two children. Q House was built on a land of 277m², with a total floor area of 545m² designed by BHA’s team.
Space of voids

The architects used a wooden structure to create a transition from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor. The combination of wood structure and natural oak color gives the house a relaxing, warm, somewhat relaxing atmosphere. reduce the heaviness of the sturdy concrete shell. The concept also embodies advanced woodworking techniques from local craftsmen, through typical assembly details in wooden structures.
“Since then, we not only arrange and divide the living spaces in this gap, but also take advantage of the convection and ventilation, get natural light into the house by creating a natural buffer, from the pool. swimming pool, garden to green trees,” added the project’s chief architect.
Shaping lifestyle through architecture
In a housing project, in addition to the purpose of satisfying the material life of the owner, the design of Q House also wants to reshape the way of life of modern people. Because, they are always in a hurry, busy with life and work outside, but forget how to enjoy peace in the house, in their own mind.
With the layout of the common living space in the middle of the first floor, the design team wanted to maximize communication between members of the house. Parents and children from this floor can interact with other surrounding bedrooms on the upper floors. The living room, where everyone gathers, will connect to the kitchen where the mother is cooking, and the children are playing together in the middle of the room.
In terms of interior materials, wood is the main interior material to create a cozy, familiar space, combining raw concrete from the ceiling and black stone floor – a local material. Besides, intercropping green trees and adding indoor gardens can help increase the interaction between people and nature, for a more lively living space, in harmony with nature.
Architectural language is formed through the structure of voids, together with the minimalism of colors and contrasting material properties, creating a light, warm, poetic and clear living space. heal the house in the middle of “Hue dreaming Hue dreaming”.
