In the days of social distancing, when it is impossible to regularly go to the market or supermarket to buy food, the story of how to keep food fresh after a week is always a “problem” that confuses many people. headache.
And perhaps Toc Tien is no exception. During the epidemic season, people caught the singer “Tomorrow” always cooking delicious and nutritious dishes for the family. Recently, Toc Tien shared a few tips to help preserve bread, carrots and avocados longer, even though they have been bought for many days.
Preserving bread with celery
At first glance, this method may seem quite strange, but in fact, not only Toc Tien but also many kitchen-loving sisters also follow and succeed.
First, you need to remove the root, wash and dry the celery. In particular, let the celery drain completely, otherwise, when putting it with bread, it will easily cause your cake to spoil quickly. Next, you can put the bread in an airtight bag or plastic box like Toc Tien, put a few onion stalks in it or alternate between the layers of cake and then seal the bag or close the lid. Then put in the refrigerator and can be used for a few more days, but the bread is still as soft and delicious as when it was bought.
Keeps avocado fresh for a long time without turning black
Often when cut out and not used up, even if stored in the refrigerator, your avocado pieces will also turn dark and very unsightly. But in Toc Tien’s way, she cut the avocado into large pieces and kept the skin intact. Then put the avocado meat face down in a glass container and pour water over the butter and store it in the refrigerator. In this way, Toc Tien said that the avocado when brought to use still retains its freshness and does not darken.
Soak carrots so that when eaten raw, they are still crunchy
Toc Tien shared that these carrots were bought by her more than a week ago, but after being soaked, the carrots were still fresh and when eaten raw, they were as crunchy as when they were new.
Accordingly, Toc Tien took the carrots to wash and cut them into bite-sized pieces. You can also leave the carrots whole, but because the green tops are hygroscopic, you need to cut them off before soaking if you don’t want the carrots to be soft or dry. Then, she used a glass jar with clean water available, put the carrots in and put them in the refrigerator. This way, you can store carrots for a long time, even a few weeks. However, you need to change it periodically about every 4 to 5 days if you do not want to be “counterproductive”.
Looking at the pictures Toc Tien shared on his personal page, everyone has to admit that, after the epidemic season, everyone will become a “master chef” with meals that are both beautiful and delicious. Let’s take a look at some of the meals that Toc Tien “treated” his husband Hoang Touliver during the epidemic season.
Hopefully with some of the tips shared by Toc Tien above, the kitchen lovers can preserve food for longer, limit going out and spread the message “Stay at home is patriotic” to Vietnam. Nam will soon overcome the Covid-19 pandemic.
