The Ford Raptor is painted with a rainbow to show support for the LGBT community.
Along with many other cities in Europe, a public holiday was celebrated in the streets of Cologne (Germany). In addition to commemorating those who have died from Covid-19, street festivals and accompanying activities are intended to show support for the LGBT community in Europe. A Ford Rapor pickup named “Very Gay Raptor” was displayed by the Ford branch operating in Germany.
The inspiration for the truck came from a homophobic comment on social media when one person said that the blue Ford Ranger Raptor looked “very gay”. The automaker responded to the commenter by saying that it is, and that it doesn’t matter. Ford then posted an image of a blue Ford Raptor decorated with a rainbow, showing support for the LGBT community. At EURO 2020, the captain’s armband of Germany that goalkeeper Manuel Nuer wears is also dotted with a rainbow.
Said to do, the company painted a rainbow on a blue Ford Raptor, in addition to adding a pink heart. One more small car, the 1998 Ford Ka, was converted into a very “quality” looking mini pickup truck, also painted with rainbow motifs.
Ford said it is also celebrating the 25th anniversary of the GLOBE (Gay, Lesbian or Bisexual Employee) network. Since 1996, the network has been committed to respecting, helping, promoting diversity, and advocating for the needs of LGBT employees at Ford.
