Victoria’s Secret was founded in 1977 in San Francisco, USA. Quickly, underwear became the top name in the North American market. In 1995, the lingerie brand decided to hold its first show to promote the new collection. The show was held very simply at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. A truly authentic show.
There are no hot models with 3 standard rounds, no singers, no angel wings. The show only featured models striding around in surprisingly minimal lingerie. However, this is the premise for Victoria’s Secret to develop a series of events later. The Victoria’s Secret show peaked in the 2010s and ended in 2019 because of a serious drop in ratings.
Take a look back at the Victoria’s Secret show to see how the brand has changed in its nearly 50 years.
