As one of the largest fashion parties in the world, the Met Gala of course has extremely strict rules for guests.
On the morning of September 14, the Met Gala 2021 will officially take place in the expectation of fans around the world. Once entering the cathedral of the Met Gala, the guests have to prepare themselves a lot of things. Besides eye-catching costumes, they also have to memorize the rules of the party if they don’t want to be invited back.
1. Don’t take selfies
In 2015, the use of social media during the event was banned. This is to help celebrities focus more on the event. In addition, Anna Wintour also wanted the show to be as confidential as possible.
However, in 2017, Kylie Jenner defied the ban and took a group selfie with stars like Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, … at the museum’s toilets.
2. People under 18 years old are not allowed
“Stars, no matter how famous and influential in fashion, if they are not 18 years old, they will not be allowed to enter the event” – 16-year-old model – dancer Maddie Ziegler once shared with The Hollywood Reporter after being one of the characters “invited” by the Met Gala’s security team.
3. No smoking
In 2018, guests attending the event were required to absolutely not smoke. This stems from the fact that in 2017, stars including Bella Hadid, Dakota Johnson and Marc Jacobs smoked in the gallery. Secondhand smoke can affect museum items.
4. Never have onions
Anna Wintour wanted her guests to have bad breath, so onions were dropped straight off the menu.
5. No one is allowed to change seats on their own
“Whoever is there, stay there” – this is not only a slogan to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic in Vietnam but also a message of power from Queen Anna Wintour to the guests attending the Met Gala. Because the event organizers have calculated when arranging seats. Arbitrarily changing places will ruin the whole image of the event.
