Total sales of the whole market by the end of July 2021 reached 166,516 vehicles, up 27% over the same period last year. In which, only tourist cars increased by 22%; commercial vehicles increased by 37% and specialized vehicles increased by 63% over the same period last year.
In terms of sales of car manufacturers, most car manufacturers saw a decrease in sales according to the general trend of the market when it decreased by 32% compared to the previous month. Only VinFast and Ford achieved sales growth in the past month. In the face of a large decrease in the number of cars sold, the car manufacturers that account for the largest market share in Vietnam are Thaco and TC Motor.
Toyota dropped out of the top 3 largest manufacturers for the first time after reducing 1,510 cars to 3,617 cars and was surpassed by VinFast with 3,782 cars sold. Currently, TPyota is ranked 4th and Vinfast is ranked 3rd.
Ranked 5th in the ranking of automakers with the largest sales in July is Ford with 1,612 vehicles, an increase of 328 vehicles compared to the previous month, with this result Ford has increased by 3 places in the past month. , Mitsubishi, Isuzu and Suzuki are the next brands in the ranking, respectively. These firms are not immune to the general downward trend of the market and witnessed a month of decline in sales due to the impact of the pandemic.
