Am House – a garden villa in Long An designed by a trio of talented architects, creating a peaceful and relaxing place to go, helping people and nature to become one.
If you are a nature lover, love a lush green garden like a pearl, love the sound of birds chirping or the murmuring water flowing through the crevices creating a wonderful natural sound, then surely you will ” fall in love” with the housing project we introduce today!
Am House is a special project implemented by 3 young architects, all 3 of whom own their own design studios, including: Architect Nguyen Huu Duy (AmDesign Architects), Architect Bui The Long (CTA | Creative). Architects) and Architect Nguyen Duy (Time Architects).
With their talent and enthusiasm, the team of architects created a living space described as follows:
“Amidst the green garden, just relax and listen to the music and sounds of nature on the porch, where you can feel the green of the leaves and the blue of the sky, where you can feel the green color of the sky. Get peace of mind and inner calm. Here, nature – homeland – people blend together and become a single whole.
Am House is a garden villa built on an area of up to 3500m² in Can Giuoc district, Long An province, far from District 7 of Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh about 45 minutes drive. The owner of Am House is currently living in an expensive apartment in District 7. As a marketing director for a large corporation, he always has to face and deal with stress and pressure at work as well as in life. living. Therefore, he wishes to have a peaceful space to rest on the weekend. In that place, he can put aside worries in the city to find peace in his soul, cultivate harmony and regenerate energy in the midst of fresh and peaceful nature.
The building is designed with 5 separate functional areas, randomly arranged under a large thatched roof and right next to a lake. The architects used split blocks to create diverse views from inside and outside of the building. Moreover, this solution helps ventilation and natural light for every space in the house.
The corrugated iron roof system is covered with thatched roofs – a typical architectural feature of the Southwest region in particular and the countryside of Vietnam in general. It both creates a feeling of being environmentally friendly and helps the building to be close to and integrate into nature. Below the corrugated iron roof system is a ceiling system finished with wood materials. Thanks to such a 3-layer roof arrangement, the building can self-regulate, reducing the temperature so that the temperature inside the house will be lower than the outdoor one.
The wooden ceiling system is painted in the same color as the wood-paneled concrete wall. Similar to the floor, the architects also created the same color palette as the wood-lined concrete wall (handmade wood grain concrete plank). Besides, the design team also did not choose brick floor but instead of grinding concrete floor to reduce construction costs and create a comfortable feeling for everyone when walking on the floor.
Am House uses a Thai roof system with slits to catch light during the day for the central area of the house. Besides, thanks to this light slit, people can perceive and feel the movement of the sun throughout the day. The large lake is designed to lie close to the floor with atriums running along both sides of the house. This landscape design feature is one of the factors that create environmental friendliness while reducing the heat of the house on a hot summer day.
Based on the wishes of the owner as well as the location advantage of the building, talented architects have synthesized solutions to prevent heat, natural ventilation, contrast and unity between colors, and the sense of objects. materials and architecture to bring nature into everyday life. That’s why Am House has become a peaceful and relaxing place, where people can put aside the chaos to find freedom, joy in their souls, peace from nature in their lives. young, peaceful.
