Jun is the amount of work done on a body by a Newtonian force that moves the body over a distance of one meter.
1. What is Jun?
Jun is also known as Joule, is a unit used to measure energy, used in many industries. Although relatively common, but for many people, the way to convert and calculate in Jun is still not easy.
This unit was created by the famous British physicist James Prescott Joule and has been specified in the SI international system of units. That’s why Jun is also known as Joule as a way to commemorate this physicist’s research.

2. 1J equals how many calories?
1 joule is approximately 0.239006 calories. Jun is often abbreviated as J, which means that 1J equals about 0.239006 kcal.
Calorie is a unit used to measure the energy of foods that people consume each day.

3. What is the relationship between Jun and calories?
To measure heat in chemistry, two units are used: calories and joules. In particular, calories that we often use are to measure the amount of energy from food that people load into the body. And this calorie refers to kilocalories, abbreviated as Kcal
For example, 1 bar of chocolate candy has 230 calories, it also means 230 kilocalories (kcal).
Besides, to calculate the energy that food provides people use joule. For example, in a 100ml bottle of juice, the label says 150 KJ which means 150 kilojoules (whereas, 1 KJ = 1000 J).
Therefore, you can see, to calculate the energy of certain foods people often use kilocalories and kilojoules. These two units are abbreviated on food packaging as calories and KJ.
4. Formula to calculate Jun (J) 4.1. Equivalence between mass and energy
The formula is: E = mc2
Where: E stands for energy, unit is Jun, m is the mass of the object and c is the speed of light in a vacuum (where c = 3 x 108 m/s)
4.2. Formula for calculating power

Power is calculated with the formula: P = A/t
Inside:
P is the power (Jun/sec – J/s or Watt – W), A is the work done in joules, t is the time to do the work in s (seconds).
4. Calorie calculation using 4.1 tool. Do you use Google?
To calculate Calories with Google, you just need to go to the Google page and search.
For example, to convert 40 calories to joules, you just type “40 cal = J” and then press Enter, you will get the results right away.

4.2. You use the tool is Convert World
Step 1: Go to the Convert World page
Step 2: Enter the quantity you want to convert > Select the unit as Calories > Then select the unit you want to convert.
Step 3: Continue to click the arrow to convert.
